.sewing.card.

INSPIRATION:
I got a scholarship from my school and while turning in the papers I thought I’d take a little extra time and make a thank you card. It turned out simple but still cute.. I ended up stitching the text paper on with white string.

DESCRIPTION:
.purse.

INSPIRATION:
Here is another request by Patricia, she wanted the butterfly pattern in a purse so I put it together with a dark brown to give it contrast and some flowery dark brown inside for some fun. It has a snap to close it and a few pockets inside one of which has a zipper.

final wallet/bracelet :)

1

Here are the sizes for the 4 fabrics

2

the interfacing {make sure you buy some lightweight / fusible interfacing}

3

this interfacing i had was to thick to I removed it at the end

4

fabric A {outside of wallet} 9 1/2" x 4 1/2"

5

Fabric B {inside of wallet} 9 1/2" x 4 1/2"

6

Fabric C {pocket 1} 9 1/2" x 6 1/2"

7

Fabric D {pocket 2} 9 1/2" x 5"

8

now cut all your fabric to those dimensions

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TUTORIAL VIDEOS {more to come}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These are my fabric choices for the ones mentioned at the beginning of the blog {you can choose to use 1 fabric for all of them if you want though}.
Then cut all your fabric choices to the correct sizes. {Don’t forget the interfacing has changed to 9″x4″ instead of 9 1/2″ x 4″
I sewed on my interfacing but you guys should buy the lightweight interfacing and iron it on. Also keep in mind that if you have thicker fabric that you won’t need interfacing {especially because you are layering fabrics}.
So take Fabric C + Fabric D and put them together right sides together and stitch a line on the bottom which will hold the pockets together. {all my stitches were less than 1/2″ because I wanted to make it as big as I could}
So it was right sides together at first {inside out} so now we iron it open first so it’ll be ready to flip it right sides out.
Now you fold the wrong side of the black fabric to the right side of the green and iron it like that. Then fold the pockets in half and iron them like that. {now they will be ready to sew}.
Here the first thing you should do is take your outside of the wallet fabric {Fabric A} and decorate it as much as you like { sew a ribbon on it , stitch a word, etc}. I added the stripped fabric on top of it and 2 snaps. Then you take your Fabric A facing up and then the pockets facing down {so basically right sides together} and then sew all around the wallet but leave one edge open so you can flip it inside out. Then after you flip it, iron it again, and sew the last line to close it {I used a zig zag line here since it’ll be visible}. Then fold your wallet in two and iron it which will create a crease in the middle of the wallet where you will stitch and create a division in the pockets. And lastly use any mechanism to close the wallet. You can sew two ribbons and tie it at the end or hole punch it and add snaps as I have or make a button hole and add a button or etc. :) ENJOY and let me know if you have questions!
10
you can fit cards / money and etc in the wallet.. its pretty spacy
11
final front.. decorate it as you want before you sew it
9
I used a snap but you can use buttons or tie or etc to close your wallet
12
the cool thing is that you can wear it as a bracelet! so if you are on the run and don't want to carry a purse, this is the way to go!
Finished Product
DSC_0099
First I got a scrap fabric and cut it about 6"x10" and Ironed it in the shape I wanted
DSC_0101
as I ironed the ends up I cut the corners so it looks like this
DSC_0105
then I got 2 pieces of cardboard for each side and holepunched it as in the photo
DSC_0108
then I sewed the cover on by going through the holes
DSC_0114
then decorate! I cut one longer piece for the background and then 2 smaller ones for the writing area and the quote {which has a fabric backing on it}
DSC_0119
then I decorated the cover {the final one had a ribbon around it to tie it together}
DESCRIPTION:
.blanket.pillow.seat.
INSPIRATION:
My friend’s babyshower is coming up in July so me and Vanessa went to the fabric store to look around and I found this cute baby whale fabric {that is SUPER soft} and decided to get it before knowing what I would do with it. Vanessa gave me the idea to make a blanket and that’s what I did first, then I had extra fabric so I made the square pillow and with the rest of the fabric I made the round pillow. Then I had that square left over and I decided to make a picture frame in the blanket for the mami & baby. :] I also had enough fabric left to make the heart and then I hand sewed the frame and heart on as the details. I’m excited how it turned out and it’s hard to believe it was only 1 yard of fabric {of each fabric}.
The 2 shelves on each side will have a door on them, the door on the left will be Magnetic {and I will make a cover for it with old book pages} and the door on the right will be a chalkboard.
DESCRIPTION:
.cabinet.storage.
INSPIRATION:
My room only has one full wall I can use, the rest has doors on it and no space {1 wall has 2 closet doors and the bathroom door, the other has the balcony door, and the third has the entrance door and by bed}. So all my cabinets had to be against the 1 free wall… the problem is I don’t have enough storage so I have designed this cabinet set to go around the existing desk & storage.
I will be calculating the price of wood and if its not to much I will be building this with my brother & daddy.
