We are back with Artist interviews and looking for new creative artist out there! {Let us know if you know someone who’d be interested in being interviewed} This month we have an interview with the talented & passionate painter Andreea Berindei. The first time I saw her was at a christian youth conference and she was up on stage painting as the worship was playing. It was beautiful to see so many people using their talents to worship God and very impressive to see how fast she was able to finish the gorgeous painting. I contacted her right away and am happy she agreed to have this interview. I love all her paintings and the story behind the work and I’m sure you will too!
Interview with Andreea Berindei
When & Where were you born
October 2, 1985 // Petrosani,România
Tell us a little about yourself
I love God more than I love anything.
I love nature, books and music.
Introvert, intrigued by unconventional beauty.
Perfectionist, with that comes plenty of disappointments.
I couldn’t have said it better than John Newton-
“I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am.”
Describe yourself in 5 words
Realist. Compassionate. Gifted. Observer. Deep.
What’s your favorite color to work with
I love colors, so it’s hard to pick just one. Although I really like white, which is not even a color but a tone/value. White is the reflection of all the colors, it has all the colors of visible spectrum.
What or who is your biggest inspiration
God and His art. He’s my favorite artist.
When did you first discover your creative talent
When I was really young, around 7 years old.
Could you tell us about some of your work
I don’t know what to say about my work. Just that when I paint at church during worship I feel very peaceful. Sometimes I feel like I have no clue about what I’ll paint, but when the music starts the inspiration comes pouring.
What hobbies do you have other than art
In Romania I took seamstress classes. So I still design and alter, my own clothes.
I am very creative and picky with everything I own.
What do you plan to do in your future
I don’t have a plan.
I gave God my talent, my time, my hands, my eyes, my mind. Let His will be done!
Do you have any advice for beginning artists
The heart of becoming a good artist is to find your own style and technique. Don’t lean your ear too much to the criticism. But do take the good advice, the different perspective, the flaws and strength in your art and work on it. The hard work will pay off.
Share with us something funny that has happened to you recently
I was walking one afternoon, when something wet hit my head. When I put my hand to touch it.. It was what else, but bird poop! Someone who’s superstitious told me that means luck. Of course I am not superstitious and don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in blessings. So I truly felt blessed after I washed my hair, and thanked God for the funny way they come my way.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be & why
Mountains, trees, clean air, sunshine= my idea of the perfect place.
I’m an incurable romantic, a lover of nature!
