My friends and I went on a last minute adventure to Laguna Beach to watch the sunset and I’m so happy we did. It was one of the most beautiful and colorful sunsets I have ever seen. The pink and purple hues seem to paint the sky with a watercolor effect which makes me ponder on our talented Creator.
Beautiful right? Take a couple hours this week to watch a sunset and admire the free art in the sky :)
I started off the day with a text from a great friend of mine and along wishing me a Happy Easter she send me the link to this song; Because of Your Love by Phil Wickham. This is a pure song that states simply what God has done for us, the ultimate love act. Sometimes I wondered if what He did was necessary and if there was another way He could have achieved the same thing. If He just said that He forgives us instead of sending His only son to die for us it would have been less painful for Him. Then I realize how detailed His plan is and how everything works entwined together. That’s when I realize that it’s the only and best thing He could have done. He gave up EVERYTHING first so that we may be able to give up our stubbornness and make a step towards Him. He made the first step, at the cross Jesus gave it all, now He waits for us to draw near to Him (James 4:8). Take the time to draw near to Him and your life will change for the better.
Because of Your great love by Phil Wickham
Jesus you endured my pain
Savior you bore all my shame
All because of your love
Maker of the universe
Broken for the sins of the earth
All because of your love
All because of your love
Because of your cross my debt is paid
Because of you blood my sins are washed away
Now all of my life, I freely give
Because of your love, Because of your love I live
Innocent and Holy king
You died to set the captive free
All because of your love
Lord you gave your life for me
So I will live my life for you
All because of your love
All because of your love
Because of your cross my debt is paid
Because of your blood my sins are washed away
Now all of my life I freely give
Because of your love, because your love I live
You did it for me, you did it for love
It’s your victory, Jesus you are enough
These past few days I was lucky enough to go on a small mission trip to Mexico along a few other churches and although I have been there before, each time I stand amazed. I stand amazed at how in the hardest living conditions, even people living in the dumps of Tijuana, people are still joyful. It really puts the world into perspective.. when children are jumping in the dirty gutter and making a game into getting out different ways, and they can laugh and find joy in that, who are we to be bitter and upset with what we have? When we have a home with a roof that isn’t falling apart in the storm, when we have a bed with a good mattress and clean warm blankets, who are we to be unhappy? When we complain that “we don’t have anything to eat” while we stare at a full fridge we need to think how these kids get SO happy to have a piece of gum. SO happy to have a chocolate bar or the simplest of things. It breaks my heart to see children and people in bad conditions and knowing I can’t help them all. But then I realized one thing… while they might not have many possessions and a perfect life, they are HAPPY and have hope and trust in God. Shame on us if we can’t do that when we have so many possessions. In Matthew 19:23-24 we read “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” And the we think, whew I’m glad I’m not rich! But think again because “if you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world”!!!

It is harder for us to be happy because we are in a society where possessions and items are important and it’s encouraged to do what’s best for you instead of a place where the only thing you need is God and His love and mercy. So what should or can you do? Because I am not saying that you should give all your possessions away and move to Mexico. What I’m saying is that we need to constantly look to God because it’s is very easy for us to lose sight of what’s important when around us what is defined as important is wealth, possessions, and self ambitions. And help anyone at any chance you get, show love in the simplest of form to everyone and grow in your relationship with Christ because that is where you’ll learn true love.

Today on my way home I saw the most beautiful rainbow! It was so full of color and it stretched across the whole sky. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me and I had a long way till I got home so I wasn’t able to take photos of it. Luckily there was a gorgeous sunset right when I got home. I quickly grabbed my camera and went to a school on top of a hill and started taking photos. At first I was trying to get the sunset but then got caught up in the reflection of the trees and lights dancing across the puddles. This is why I love the rain;
And here is the gorgeous sunset in an animation format {you might have to load it all the way then look at it}

Looking at this how can anyone say there is no God? How can anyone say the world was an accident? There’s so much detail in sunsets, so many colors, shapes, movements. It’s a beautiful art and every art has an artist :)
After watching the beautiful sunset I started walking back to my car but got distracted by the reflections in the puddles and started taking more photos throughout the schoolyard.
Some days I stand in awe at our beautiful creation. Today on our way to church I saw a gorgeous sunset (I wished I had my camera with me but I’ll hold it in my memories). It’s beautiful to see how God can paint the sky so many different ways, not once the same as the time before. So many colors, compositions, and variety; He is truly an artist.
And today after church I looked up at the moon (which was gorgeous) and saw something that stood out, there was a faded cloud around the moon resembling and X and an O … Right away I’m thinking xo=hugs & kisses haha and thought how cute that God set that up to show us some love. And then I started thinking how He does that often, in the way a leaf falls smoothly off a tree, a beautiful flower stands out against the green grass, the way a butterfly or bird flies by, the way He sends us beautiful shells at the beach and so many more ways. We just have to open our eyes, feel the wind, and listen to His whispers and look for His fingerprints. So many times we get caught up in life and our routines an we forget to stop and enjoy (I’m guilty of this as well).
So this week I challenge you to stop in the middle of the chaos and look for God’s fingerprints and nature. :)
This is one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen, it was on our way back from my friends house sometime around 4 am and as I was almost falling asleep I noticed this beautiful sunrise. I quickly took out my camera and took this photo through the back of the car window. I have never seen the clouds create a shadow like this before, it was truly a stunning moment.
I decided to pair this photo up with the quote “Do not worry…” because you can see how He is in control to such a high point that He tells the clouds and the sun and the mountains where to stand & even move. :] If He can control so much, He will also take care of us. This photograph was taken at a beautiful beach right after the rain and it seemed to go perfect with my favorite verse in the bible;
I’ve been through alot in my life but I can say there was a major point (sometime during the end of HighSchool) where I realized God is with us and has a plan for each one of us. At that point I decided no matter what happens that I will trust in Him and that He will direct my path, His will for my life.
There are time and will be times when my situation will not make sence to me at the moment but I know it’ll be clear in the end. I went to a community college with a plan and through college God has opened doors (and closed some) and I was able to see Him working. And long story short I have learned alot which I did not expect; to be a leader, to be organized, to give up my time for others, to be social, and more. But some doors also closed for me (at least for now). Most of you know that I wanted to become an architect. I finished my time at the community college and was about to transfer this January (had everything set up to start). And through the process of getting ready to move out and go to a new school I constantly prayed for His will to be done [at the time thinking that He'll protect me and help me on this new journey]. I did not expect the curve ball that happened; Financial Aid wasn’t able to help me and I did not even come close to being able to afford the school. A few days before I was suppose to move I realized this was not going to happen. Now I will not say that it might not happen in a year or a few but I do believe with all my heart that God planned for this. I’ve seen His guidance and fingerprints in my life leading to this point and He doesn’t make mistakes. So now, even though I’m not sure what will happen… I am excited to see what He has planned… His plans are ALWAYS better than my own. :)
Thanksgiving is coming up (again..phew this year went by fast!) and again we remind ourselves of what we are thankful for. Our loved ones, the shelter and endless amount of things we have, our health, and much more. What are you thankful for this year? :)
I put this collage together to try and print it at a 28″x18″ and try to transfer it to canvas to place it in my new room :)
