Lately anchors, lace, and navy blue have been some of my favorite fashion features. I got a great deal on the stripped navy blue fabric at Joanns and a few weeks ago I bought some lace fabric. My friend’s birthday was coming up and decided to take the opportunity and make a new purse. I printed a anchor, taped it on white faux leather and traced it and cut the leather in that shape, then sewed around the edge with a blue string to add some detail. I finished the body of the purse and then ironed on the anchor and braided the string for the anchor.
I also added a different fabric for the inside pocket that matched the other ones {I love adding different details throughout}.
I wish I photographed it better but I was in a rush so I had to photograph it in little light.. that’s why the colors are a bit off.
I lovee lace! The detail and elegance of lace or crochet items seem to go with any outfit :]
Lately I’ve been very busy with school and haven’t had any time to sew. Today after finishing my report {which took more than 8 hours!} I decided to take the rest of the night off and just sew. I had bought some lace fabric a few weeks ago and wasn’t sure what to do with it but I decided to try and make a lace scarf. I used a silky {spandexy} dark grey fabric and the white lace. It’s approximately 140 inches long and it’s in shape of a circle which allows you to wear it many different ways.

I’ve been working on these for the past few weeks on and off and it finally came together. I tried a few designs and these are the final ones {even though I’m already thinking of adding one more thing to them}. There are 3 types of tags for my 3 categories of products; Hope – refurbished items, Faith – found treasures, Love – handmade items :]
Today we did the most in Catalina because we had allll day {7am -11pm}.
yumm a Nutella Crepes with bananas on top and a glass of cold milk ;) now that’s a delicious breakfast!
Then we went downtown and on the pier. The breeze & the sound of the waves were so relaxing.

Then we went in this Semi-Submarine {only part of it is underwater} and saw sooo many fish.
Then we rented out a golf cart {that’s one of the main ways to get around the island} and drove around & took photos. It was definitively fun to ride the golf card and even better in these amazing views.
This weekend I went on a, much needed, vacation to Catalina with my family. We left on Friday and stayed till Sunday afternoon :)
To get to Catalina Island you have to take a ship from Long Beach to the island itself, which takes about 1 hour. The ship drive itself was beautiful; we relaxed in the breeze, saw a rainbow, talked, and even saw 3 dolphins! As we pulled up to the island it got more and more peaceful and beautiful!
Here are the photos from Friday, in the same order I took them:
