Here’s a cute tutorial for you! Normally I post up the tutorial of the week on Fridays but this weekend I’m going to a church retreat and won’t have access to the internet. Up there I decided to set up a photobooth for fun and I was trying to think what other props to bring so I made these paper doily bowtie necklaces, inspired by Freena’s designs. This is a bowtie you can use in many ways, you can decorate a gift with them or make a card or a hair accessory and whatever else you can imagine! :) I hope you enjoy it!

scratch card tutorial

This is a project I’ve been wanting to try for a longgggg time ! Do you guys remember scratch cards? There’s something so magical about them that just makes your heart skip a beat. And my heart did skip a beat when I found out this is makable!

So what should I do with this new found ability?? Well why not reward my customers with coupons, quotes, jokes, and beautiful photos? eh eh? That’s exactly what I did, I photoshoped 28 different cards – printed them on cardstock paper – and made them into scratch cards!

The supplies: metalic paint, paper plate, paintbrush, transparent tape, your cards, scissors, a little dish soap to mix it with the paint, and a small stick.

This is the paint I bought ( I didn’t want to go with the traditional silver so I got my fav color instead)

Here are my 28 cards :)

Step 1) Take the transparent piece of tape and put it on top of your card (where you will paint) – Alternative option is to go to kinkos and have all your cards laminated!

Step 2) Mix a little dish soap in with some paint (in your paper plate) and start painting on top of the tape, do a few layers until everything is covered.

Step 3) After it dries, get a stick or other tool and scratch off the excess paint leaving it in a nice square

Now you put it to the side and continue on your next card(s). I did layer one on all cards then started layer 2 and then 3.. so they were drying as I was painting the other ones..

Get your test one and scratch it off :)
